Lo que más queda en la memoria de los viajes por carretera es cada uno de los acontecimientos que se viven mientras uno anda por ella. Y digo “acontecimientos” porque todos, así sea coger una gallina para el sanconcho son memorables; tal vez por esa suerte de estar tirado a la intemperie todo el tiempo, sin protector solar ni seguro de vida. Atravezar toda la Guajira es uno de esos recuerdos. Especialmente, Punta Gallinas, como aparece en esta foto, pues es el lugar en donde el tiempo no pasa, uno simplemente, está suspendido.

This photo was taken travelling across “La guajira” in my country, Colombia. This was in Punta Gallinas, the best place for writing a novel if you are a writer, and if you are not too. My hostess here was a native woman who’s name was Luzmila. One night I asked her, if she ever worried about anything. With a big smile she said: But, why should I worry about, If I have it all here?
